How do you approach Offpage SEO?

Offpage SEO optimization, how do you best approach this?

To get your website high in the search results of Google, for example, is Searchmachine optimalisation of interest. A distinction can be made between Onpage and Offpage SEO optimization. What exactly is meant by Offpage SEO, how do you approach this and what should you not do?

Off-page SEO

What is Offpage SEO?

Search engine optimization can take place in two places, namely Onpage and Offpage. If the optimization is done Onpage, it concerns activities on your website itself. This means, for example, that the texts on your site are of high quality and are written with certain keywords or Keyword in mind. Offpage SEO optimization is not about actions you perform on your own website, but rather about things that take place outside it. Consider, for example, marketing via social media and link building. These are both ways to ensure that backlinks are created to your website.

How to run Offpage SEO optimization out?

As mentioned, you can get started with Offpage SEO through link building and social media marketing. With link building you ensure that texts about your product or company appear on other websites. These texts contain links to your own website. Not only can readers find your business so easily, if you have a lot of these backlinks your website will also be rated higher by Google! Of course, you have to find websites that are willing to include text about you and that can be difficult. That is why a lot of paid link building takes place. You have more control over social media marketing. For example, you can post messages via Facebook with a link to your website. Or you include a link in your Instagram biography. You can also post videos on YouTube, these are increasingly found and appreciated by Google and therefore have an increasing effect on your ranking.

What should you not do?

There are also things you absolutely shouldn't do, especially when it comes to... linkbuilding. In the past, people sometimes placed backlinks in comments on blogs, for example, as often as possible. However, Google now takes this for granted, meaning that these links no longer have any effect. Pages that are full of link spam are also singled out and therefore no longer have a positive effect on your ranking. In fact, if Google recognizes a website as link spam, this can even have an adverse effect! You will then receive a kind of penalty, which will actually lower your score in the search results instead of higher. So you definitely want to avoid this!

Effective optimization

If you want to tackle link building in an effective and safe way, make sure you get links on a high-quality website. A website that is relevant to your company and that has a high domain value. You score points with this and get higher in the search results. In short, it is best to perform search engine optimization on both Onpage and Offpage to get the greatest possible effect. If both are well coordinated and executed correctly, you will notice that your position in the search results will increase. This is of course in your interest, because the higher your ranking, the more potential customers will find your website!
