Link juice

Link juice is a term that you will certainly encounter sooner or later when you start working with the SEO optimization from your web page. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Simply put, SEO includes everything you need to do to ensure that your page is found well in Google and - to a lesser extent - other search engines. And that is of course what you want! Because whether you want your blogs to be read or people to purchase your service or product: it starts with visitors.

Link juice

What exactly is Link juice?

Loosely translated, it means: the 'juice' you get when another web page links to your web page. And that is absolute juicy! Because external links contribute to how high you score in Google. Google knows all too well that the number of web pages that link to you is a good indication of the value that your page has for the visitor. After all: if you didn't have a good page, people wouldn't link to you.

Is every link worth the same?

No. Of course it does matter who links to you. Suppose you have written an extensive article about building your own app. Then there is a difference in the value of the link that your mother places on her personal blog to your web page, and that of a renowned tech blogger. Google thinks so too. And so the link coming from the tech blog provides more juice than the link from the proud mother.

These links are worth the most

Which pages have a lot of juice depends on the keywords what you want to score on. These must be web pages with content that matches your web page, that are of good quality and have a lot of user interaction (for example, comments on blog posts) and therefore appear high in the search engine results. And – not unimportant – pages with relatively few outbound links. Logical: because if a website places many links, the people behind that page apparently easily link through and links from that source are less scarce and therefore less valuable.

These links are worth little

On the other hand, there is hardly any juice to be had on some pages. You should then think of pages with content that is not relevant to your page. But also to pages that have many outbound links and pages that – for whatever reason – score low in Google. Setting up a page without relevant content, especially for building links, makes no sense.

This way you get more links to your website

The first way to get more links is to actively distribute content that links to your page. This will be linkbuilding named. In general, this means sharing information in places other than your website that adds value to people who might also be interested in the page you want to promote. For example, by writing guest blogs, sending out press releases, or posting on your social media. In that content you link to the page in question. The second way is to put all your energy into building nothing less than groundbreaking satisfied! So: you look at your competitors and then do everything better. You provide more information and add videos, infographics and others eye catchers to. The idea is that those links will come naturally. And the juice too!
